ENDING OF THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE

ENDING OF THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE HUNTING SEASON
UPDATE - TUESDAY, JANUARY 19th 2010
The Department of the Environment has decided that the temporary suspension of shooting will expire on Wednesday 20th January. Accordingly, hunting can recommence and so members can commence shooting from Sunday 24th January 2010. The season will end as normal on January 31st next.

Bruff & District Gun Club & Game Protection Association




The Bruff and District Gun Club and Game Protection Association was started in the mid 60's and today’s club is still run in accordance with the same objectives that the founding members laid out back then.

The main objects of the association are as follows,

  • The preservation of game in the club area.
  • The re-stocking of the lands with game.
  • The prevention of poaching.
  • The promotion of clay-pigeon shooting.
  • The destruction of vermin (in accordance with the wishes of the land owners).

The Bruff Gun Club is a member of the National Association of Regional Game Councils http://www.nargc.ie/ through the Limerick Regional Game Council and all members of the club are fully covered by the N.A.RG.C. compensation fund.
